Brutal Rust and Brutal Rust Activator work as a one – two punch to create real rust on props and sets.
If Brutal Rust was a real person, it would be the 2005 Chuck Liddell. (not to be confused with the 2011 Chuck Liddell – Sheesh!) We are talking round one TKO strength here buddy! Brutal Rust dries and rusts in one hour. That’s exactly right. You can crack a cold beverage, paint your set and the beer beverage will still be cold when you finish. To give you more good news, you can repeat the beverage / paint process again and again in the same day. No more waiting till the next day before realizing your prop needs twelve more coats of paint.
So, what’s the secret to gritty, grimy rust? Besides cold beverages, you only need a bottle of activator and a 500 watt halogen light. We recommend painting your prop, spraying it heavily with activator and then placing the halogen light about 2 – 3 feet away. The closer the light the quicker the paint and activator get it on and create rust babies. Please note that when you place the light too close to your prop, it could melt or catch on fire. This, as experience has taught us is a bad thing. Also note that ingesting the paint or activator will almost certainly make you very sick and completely un-pregnant. Humans can’t make rust babies silly!
