Award Winning Faux Bricks

Designing sets for film grade attraction can be a daunting task. The hours are long and the work is very detailed. This is particularly true when when building and faux finishing 1500 square feet of brick-covered, gothic vaulted ceilings and twisting subterranean passageways.

Luckily, Brutal Rust has a star studded team of designers, faux finishing artists, carpenters and builders. We were able to combine our award winning products with our talented team to create one of the most intricate and realistic vaulted cellars in the haunted attractions industry.

The following photos will take you through our process of transforming bare walls into a subterranean passageway.

• Start to finish: Two weeks.

Quick Overview of the “Brick Making Process”

• Mix Drywall mud with Urban Decay (Brick Color) ~ Special order
• Mix Drywall mud with Urban Decay (Grout Color) ~ Special order
• Draw and tape out your brick design
• Fill in brick areas with Urban Decay drywall.
• Remove Tape
• Create German brick smear with Urban Decay drywall mud
• Stain bricks and German brick smear with Urban Decay
